Recent trends show that LED Lamps is fast becoming an ideal replacement for halogen bulbs due to many reasons;
1. Less energy consumption
LED Lamps 2W- 5W can produce nearly the same light effect of a 20W – 50W Halogen Bulbs. Thus energy saving is improved tremendously leads to lesser energy consumption.
2. Longer lifespan and low maintenance cost
LED Lamps can last up to 40,000hrs lifetime but Halogen Bulbs can only last around 2,000hrs lifetime. Thus, it is much less labor cost and maintenance cost will be lower.
3. Higher energy efficiency because less energy wasted
For Halogen Bulb, IR light is contained within its spectrum, where most of the energy is wasted as heat, but not in visible light. In an air-conditioning room, this extra heat will lead to more power consumption.
Whereas LED Lamps deliver mono-chromatic light thus less wasted energy, most of the light spectrum is in visible light.
4. Greener lighting
For Halogen Bulb light, UV is also contained within its light spectrum. We all know that, UV light does more harm to human skin, carpet, and even the precious painting, etc.
Whereas LED Lamps deliver greener light and no UV light.
5. Lower working temperature
Halogen Bulb surface temperature can reach up to 250℃, which is not suitable for lighting for some heat-sensitive objects; such as upper-class wine, museums or art galleries/paintings. Furthermore it can cause danger or irritation to our skin.
